A highly intimate, thought provoking one person play. Set in a car, with only four audience members.
Four people are invited to view a car for sale, what unfolds is a touching and strange monologue from the seller about modern alienation, addiction, the death of ennui and the managed decline of our futures. With their headspace stuck somewhere between an endlessly distracted doom scroll and a deep and meaningful, the seller tries to attempt to truly connect with the possible buyers. All whilst being unsure if they can actually let go of the sacred decaying automobile.
For archive and promotion much of the dress rehearsal will be filmed with cinema cameras and produced to a high standard not normally available to underground theatre. Whilst the number of audience members will be very limited this video material has potential for some virality in theatre and performing circles. In short, the promo material will be really good.
About me: I'm a Melbourne born, Berlin/London based film director diving back into theatre after a long hiatus. A creative space I'm looking forward to diving into in site specific experimental pieces over the coming year. I’m on the hunt for performers in Berlin hungry to do thought provoking, fresh and intense work. The world is on fire. Let’s make things that we can be proud of, before we’re all burned up.
